The PI Club was founded in early 2016 and initially brought together 14 ambitious Finance Directors from Registered Providers across the country. Led by Tony and the team, they thrashed out exactly what the future for benchmarking and performance improvement could look like. Out of this discussion, the key focus of the group was agreed; to go beyond benchmarking and really look at performance improvement, hence the name. The PI Club has been developed with its members from the ground up. It is underpinned by strategic business intelligence, including our own Global Accounts Plus, which enables members to run their businesses better. Using the right balance of forward looking and historical information we enable RPs to make better strategic decisions.
Using a number of key metrics, including the latest Regulator value for money metrics, we baseline member’s performance and track their progress and improvement. In this way the Club help’s its members generate financial savings which can be reinvested into:
Maintaining and modernising tenant’s homes
New emerging technologies to drive efficiency
Building more homes for more people
Tony Bryan: Founder & Chair of the Performance Improvement Club
Tony is the founder and Chief Executive at Vantage Business Solutions, with over 18 years’ experience working with housing providers to transform their organisations, reduce costs and become more efficient. Tony is a highly-respected expert in the field of transformation, who has provided strategic consultancy and mentoring to the executive teams of many of the UK’s leading social housing providers. Prior to setting up Vantage, Tony held many senior appointments in the private sector including Finance Director with BAe Systems and Johnson Controls Automotive, heading up lean implementation teams across Europe and the US with Toyota and Ford Motor Company.
Over the years, as Vantage has grown in size and influence, Tony has been approached many times by Finance Directors asking if he would consider setting up a benchmarking club. They were frustrated with what was available in the market and wanted something much more comprehensive; something competitively priced that provided relevant data in a more timely fashion. The Performance Improvement Club (PI Club) is Tony’s brainchild and Vantage’s solution to this gap in the market.
Outside of his professional life, Tony is the father to three children and a keen Liverpool football fan. He has enjoyed periods of time living in the US and is now settled on the Wirral just outside Chester.
