Retrofit at Scale

Zero Carbon Club Workshop with DESNZ and Ofgem – Retrofit at Scale

About this event

This session brings together decarbonisation leads to explore what it really takes to deliver retrofit at scale — from integrating programmes with planned works to managing contractors, overcoming no‑access barriers, and supporting residents through the transition. We’ll look at emerging technologies, practical delivery models, and be joined by James Vearny, Deputy Director, Ofgem to discuss electricity distribution and the role of DNO’s.  We will also be joined by Selvin Brown, Director of Net Zero Buildings: Domestic at DESNZ (Department of Energy Security and Net Zero.)

Key topics include

  • Integration with Planned Works & Co‑Design — aligning retrofit with wider investment programmes and designing solutions with residents.
  • Contract & Project Management Approaches — delivery models, commercial oversight, and managing performance at scale.
  • Hard‑to‑Treat Homes — practical pathways for complex archetypes and mixed‑tenure challenges.
  • Technology Update — current innovations, proven technologies, and what’s becoming viable for large‑scale deployment.
  • Supporting Residents onto the Right Tariff — ensuring retrofit translates into real affordability gains.
